Patient praises care on BBC radio

Patient Edna Wright was so pleased with the care she received from us, she has been interviewed on BBC radio praising us and wishing the NHS a happy 70th anniversary!

Edna contracted polio in her right leg when she was three years old. In her teens metal staples were put in to her left leg to slow its growth, so that both legs would be a similar length. Fast forward 65 years, and the deterioration of her left knee may have meant spending the rest of her life in a wheelchair – but a complex knee replacement operation which included removing those decades-old staples has resulted in Edna regaining her mobility.

You can read Edna’s story here and listen to her interview here (she is about one hour 20 minutes into the programme).
